Vampirism & Lukewarm Christianity

In today's article we will be covering the topic of vampirism and what the bible says about drinking blood.

The Forbidden Drink

We see in both the old and new testaments that God has forbidden mankind from eating blood, this is something the Lord doesn't want us to do (Gen 9:4, Lev 17:10-14, Acts 15:20, Acts 15:28-29, Acts 21:25). Therefore it is a sin to eat blood, plain and simple. Despite this there are several dishes in other countries that have food dishes that contain blood.

Movie Culture & Deceptive Doctrines

Have you ever seen the movie twilight? It's the story of a teen girl falling in love with a vampire. The author tries to portray the vampire and his family as "good" vampires because of their reluctance to drink human blood. Instead they drink the blood of animals. What the lost world may not realize is as we have just seen drinking any blood is sin. The very notion that today's youth looks up to Edward Cullens (vampire), Harry Potter (wizard), Deadpool (Zombie), Venom (demonic looking Alien), as role models shows their lack of discernment. The bible pronounces woe to those who call evil good (Isa 5:20). The person we should be aspiring to be like is Jesus Christ (Gal 4:19).

What are some false beliefs that are taught by vampire culture. For one it teaches that you can circumvent death or rather acquire eternal life apart from Christ. We know this can't be further from the truth (Joh 3:36, Joh 4:14). Secondly, as we just read the media will try and portray some vampires as good guys or hero's; however vampires by their very nature are evil. This is evident by their weakness to light and their repulsion of the cross (both are representations of christ). see Joh 3:19-20, Joh 8:12, Act 26:18, & Luk 9:23, 1Cor 1:18, Phili 3:18-19. It is quite unfortunate to see many professing christian youth becoming enamoured with the dark things of this world.

Vampires: Fact or Fiction?

Are vampires real? Well, we know that once a person dies their soul either goes to heaven or hell, so we know that it's not a human spirit that would possess a corpse if vampires did exists. I would say it would have to be a demonic spirit that possesses the corpse if vampires were real given that they are evil creatures. I find it highly unlikely that this actually occurs, the only reason I don't rule it out entirely is because according the bible magic is real and people can do supernatural things with the aid of devils (Exo 7:11-12, Exo 7:21-22, Act 8:9-11).

Other kinda relevant verses to the topic at hand include the refusal of David to drink the water from the well of bethlehem and compared it to blood because the three mighty men risked their lives to get it (1Ch 11:19). The generation spoken of in Pro 30:14 who teeth are as swords and jaw teeth as knives. Luk 9:60 indicates that the dead walk among us, though spiritually dead not physically. God gives the wicked blood to drink in Rev 16:6, and Rev 17:6 depicts the woman drunken with the blood of the saints.

To conclude this article I thought it meet to address the lord's supper/mass. Because it is professed among catholics that they drink his literal blood in accordance with John 6. However the wine that true believers drink is symbolic of his blood and not the literal blood itself. It is remembering the blood that was shed on our behalf for our sins at calvary. We see in John 7 that the drink Jesus was offering was that of the Spirit, the verses I give in 1 Corinthians further illustrates my point (Joh 6:53-58, Joh 7:37-39, 1Cor 10:4, 1Cor 12:13). So instead of drinking literal blood like vampires to obtain eternal life we as christians receive eternal life as a result of being born of the Spirit.
