Theistic Evolution is the belief that God used the processes of Evolution to make the world. From a young age children are indoctrinated through public schools and media (aka kids dinosaur books, etc), that the earth is billions of years old, created by natural processes, and that dinosaurs lived and died off millions of years ago. While many children at the same time are brought to Sunday school and taught that God made the world in just six days. Some Christians wish to hold to both Darwinian Evolution and the Bible as truth. To do so two theories have been created to aid this endeavor.
The day-age theory - which states that the days of creation week were not literal 24 hr days but vast ages of time (millions/billions of years).
The Gap theory- Creation week was six literal days but there was a gap of time between 2 distinct creations between the first and second verse of the bible (Genesis 1:1,1:2), this is where the billions of years fits in.
There are several key problems with these theories that I would like to address
1. The order in which things are created are different.
Evolution conflicts with the bible in stating that the Sun was made before the earth and plants, Dinosaurs appeared before birds, and Fish before plants.
2. Death before sin contradicts Romans 5:12-14, 1Cor 15:21-22.
Thats why God gave man and beast plants to eat because plants do not have souls. They don't have blood (Lev 17:14 ) or breath through nostrils(Gen 2:7, 7:22).
3. If the day- age theory was true wouldn't you have God calling death very good during creation week? the bible calls death and enemy (1 cor 15:26). that is done away with (Rev 21:4). when God makes a new heaven/earth the animals will be herbivores (Isaiah 11:6-9, 65:25)
4. During creation week it mentions the first day, the second day, etc, which means no days before hand. In Hebrew grammar when you add evening and morning as well as a number it always means a literal 24 hr day.
5. The whole point of Evolution was to attempt to explain the origin of the universe without God, it is supposed to be a natural unguided process which is totally unbiblical.
(Gen 1:1, Job 12:7-10, Psa 33:6, Rom 1:20-25)
6. You can find evidence both in the bible and in science that the world is young
(Luke 3, Gen 1:27, Mat 19:4, Mar 10:6, Jude 1:14)
C-14 in coal, diamonds, and dino bones, shrinking sun, decay of Magnetic field, length of recorded history, etc.
7. Dinosaurs are mentioned in the KJV bible as dragons.
(Psa 148:7, Isa 43:20, Jere 9:11, Mal 1:3)
plenty of evidence that dinosaurs lived with man including soft tissue in dino bones, ancient dino carvings and figures, dragon stories of old and modern dino sightings.
8. Evolution claims creatures turn into new creatures over time even though there is no evidence for this today or in the fossil record. (Ecc 1:9, Jere 13:23, Gen 1:11, 12,21,24,25
In conclusion Evolutionist are a classic example of Jere 2:27 when they claim that they came from rocks. ( They claimed it rained on the rocks for millions of years, creating a prebiotic soup which the first life came from).
If you don't believe Jesus when he tells you how he made the world why would you believe him when he tells you about heaven? (John 3:12). My Advice to teens attending public school would be to take heed to Colo 2:8 and to avoid science falsely so called (1 Tim 6:20).
